Client: Christina King (University of Wisconsin-Madison - Film Professor)

Location: 1102 Spaight Street, Madison, WI,53703

Square Footage: 4,000 sqft.

Category: Residential

Software: AutoCAD, SketchUp, Enscape

Description: Re-design of a 4,000 sqft. Queen Anne Victorian residential house into an ADA-compliant AirB&B, featuring three guest suites (1/3 are ADA) and an owner's suite (ADA).

Design Concept: This project draws inspiration from the concept of Transatlantic Echoes inspired by “Gone with the Wind” and the location of the house in Madison. Following Scarlett O'Hara's life through themes of love, war, and history through the spectrum of the color red. Drawing inspiration from the history of family names, just like Spaight: woodpecker (Old English).  Which serves as a guiding motif within the parallel of Scarlett O'Hara's life.  Lastly, intertwining the location between two bodies of water, representing Ying and Yang, between land and lake.
